How to Use Automations
Customers that connect to your WiFi can be sent automated promotions or coupons via email or text based on triggerable criteria.
Not applicable to Basic Plan users. Automations are a part of the Essential Plan package only.
1. Click on Automations on the left menu in the Portal.
2. Click on Add New Automation button
3. Choose Trigger, Frequency, and Delay
- Trigger – when automation will occur
- Connect (when customer initially connects to WiFi)
- Disconnect (when customer session has expired)
- Inactivity (when customer has not connected to WiFi for certain number of days)
- Birthday (when it is customer’s birthday, only works with Facebook login and publicly listed birthdays)
- Frequency – how often to send automation
- Always
- Once
- By Visits: Before, On, After x number of visits
- Real Time/Delay – if any delay before automation occurs
- Real Time
- Wait x number of minutes/hours/days
4. Automation Name: create a name to reference your Automation
5. Location/Campaign: name of location or campaign to apply Automation
6. Action: Automation action to occur
- Email: create a custom email to send
- Twilio: create a custom SMS to send
- ActiveCampaign/GetResponse/iContact/MailChimp/SendReach: sync customer emails collected with external autoresponder lists
- InfusionSoft/Ontraport/Square: sync customer emails collected with external CRM systems
- TripAdvisor/GetFiveStars/ReputationLoop: send automated review requests to customers
- PunchCards: track customer loyalty and give rewards
- Zapier/Webhooks: choose from hundreds of custom actions or create your own
7. Add New Apps: as necessary (see Knowledge Base for specific App instructions)
8. Email Settings: if sending an automated email…
- Choose Sender Name, Sender Email, and Email Subject
- Create text, image, buttons, etc for email message in editor
Example Automations:
1. Send coupon for free ice cream after 10 visits
2. Send email with link to Google Review 10 minutes after customer leaves
3. Sync customer emails collected with MailChimp
